Matthew 19:14 But YaHOSHA Messiah said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the YaHVaH the Father: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the YaHVaH the Father.

Numbers_1:4 And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
Deut/Debarim_32:17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to Elohim; to Elohims whom they knew not, to new Elohims that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
sa_78:5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
Psa_78:8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with Elohim.

Guard your families’ heart. Proclaim or teach the Word of YaHVaH. Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing who use every cunning method to hijack your family.

We had been a righteous, balanced church-going family: Husband and wife exercised their proper roles. We were not over-domineering nor provoking our child to harsh anger.

I consulted the advise of the pastor of Fundamental Evangelistic Association. “Please give me advise if we should celebrate holidays and birthdays with our unsaved parents, allowing them to “spoil the child”. The pastor answered we should not separate from relatives, but from anyone else who might have undue influence on our child.

In our life, we were worked over by relatives, enemies and friends. They bribed our teen-aged daughter with money, power and gifts. The scalawags lined-up a compromising man to love our daughter. Even though she was too young to drive, they gave her a City official car. I was never allowed to be aware of the secret things cleverly prepared.

My wife who loved YaHVaH even approved of all the special attention the daughter received from the world. They used a policeman to “protect” our daughter and stop normal communication with her. Grandparents and aunts condoned or approved of the prodigal daughter and her sinful lifestyle of living in sin with the divorced man.

As husband, I allowed my wife to handle these situations. This was irresponsible as a weak leader of my family, in the 1980’s. Even though I knew the Scriptures about separation (Paul’s letters to Romans etc.) I did not practice separation from unbelievers, even from the Grandparents who influenced by spoil, my family. It is not good to be so naïve or too trusting of everyone.

Proverb 17:6 Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
19:14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the YAHVAH THE FATHER.
2 Timothy_3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the Pure scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in YaHOSHA Messiah.

Hebrews_12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

As we look back, we were not mature parents, and we did not have knowledge of Torah, our naive, simple walk brought destruction to my family. After the untimely death of Penny my first wife, YaHOSHA Messiah has given me a new wife. We both believe the Word of YaHVaH is for today, and that adultery is not an excuse to go out and break the commandment get a quick divorce, and remarry someone who is still married to someone.

1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Deu 31:6 Chazak, Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for YaHVaH thy YaH, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Josha 1:6 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Have not I commanded thee? Chazaq! Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for YaHVaH thy YaH is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Yes, rebuke the devil in Messiah’s Name. You will have spiritual victory over the HaSatan.
Modern Day Parents and Children

In Modern days before 1970 parents were said to be “doing their best”. But often, the then busy dad reneged his proper place as “man of the house”; he let his spouse “wear the pants in the family”. Occasionally the child actual was in charge. His alibi for not taking his role was “work” and fatigue.
Ephesians 5 is a good passage of Scripture to set-up the Spiritual leadership. It must assume that the Dad is a qualified Spiritual leader. If he is irresponsible, then the wand goes to the next of the chain of command.

IsaiYaH_3:4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
Isa_3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Here are some the Proverbs from Scripture a true believer cannot ignore:

Proverbs 23:12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge. 13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beat him (gently, lovingly) with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shalt (apply) the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. 15 My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. 16 Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.

22 Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old. 23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. 24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begets a wise child shall have joy of him. 25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.
26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. (an often quoted Proverb.)
20 Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. (Exodus 20/Deut 5 the Fifth Commandment) (Ephesians 6:4)

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way (he) should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Team Playing You may have heard that “team playing” is a good quality in matrimony for husband and wife. We agree that it often works well in the work place. Nonetheless it may not be the Scriptural policy when it comes down to the final decision. For example, “Should we allow 15 year old child to stay home away from Sabbath school and church?” “Couldn’t we just allow our child to go to Brand X church? They have a nice Sunday school and she could make a lot of friends there.”
Ask “Does the Church even believe in the essentials of the Faith once delivered?”
If they do not teach the Word, the Gospel of Repentance, the Ten Commandments, all TEN, plus the statutes and judgments let them be anathema.
20 years later, she still thinks and acts like a child.  The principles of Scripture for raising a child are important.  We need to keep them all.
We suggest you study the book of Revelation, especially the warnings to us.
Read the Psalm 69, and be sure your name is not blotted out of the book of the living. Blessings!
